Today is my 33 wedding anniversary. I know you probably think this is a strange picture to put up for such a day as this but this picture represents life as we know it. I am so thankful that Carl is the one that is going through this crazy thing we call life with me. I am so thankful for his calmness in the midst of our lives. I am thankful for his willingness to let us open our home to so much fun/people/craziness.
I have two close friends who have husbands that decided that they didn't want to be married to them anymore. That makes me realize all the more that God has given me this gift of marriage and I by no means celebrate it lightly.
Wow! I just found 5.00$!

Good Time, Party Time- Savannah Time Part II
This is one of Andrew's favorite squares. I have forgotten who the statue is of. Andrew, help me out with a comment, please.
This is the Hamilton Turner house. It was the first house in Savannah to have electricity. It is also the model for the Haunted Mansion in Walt Disney World. It is now a bed and breakfast.
One of our favorite restaurants.
I love all the Spanish Moss. It is fun on the drive to Savannah to notice when you first see the moss in the trees and sad to me when I no longer see as we make our way home.
Andrew and I went to Tybee Island one afternoon. This is spot when the Federal canon were located when they fired upon Fort Pulaski during the Civil War.
When you have a son who is an electrical engineer you get tours of substations.
Andrew, Taylor and I had a great visit. We were able to watch lots of sports and TED videos, we tried a few new recipes and we ate out too. We talked books and visited the library twice. And we laughed and laughed and laughed.
I didn't take as many pictures as I usually do.
I finished a scrapbook that I made for A and T while they were at work. I also got to work on my counted cross-stitch that I plan to finish when I get to heaven. Look for me there carrying it around.
Carl flew back to Savannah and we drove home. I told Andrew and Taylor that I thought this was our best visit ever. Andrew laughed and said that I say that after every visit. I am so thankful for wonderful visits with my wonderful children.

Good Time, Party Time- headed to Savannah Time!
Carl, Kaitlin and I got up early one Sunday and headed to Savannah to see Andrew and Taylor. I can't make the 14 hour trip in one day so we try to pick a new spot to stay with every trip.
We got to go through AUBURN on this trip. I love AUBURN. I even have it on my retirement list for Carl and I to spend a month there. Not sure if I want to spend a month there during football season or maybe basketball/baseball season. I love planning!
We got to see the new statues of the Heisman winners!
We saw lots of folks trying to take down the statue of Cam. It made us laugh.
I have this handy dandy feature on my camera that takes 3 shots in a row with the self timer. Usually we take the first one 'normal'- well, normal for us, then we go for a little personality! Carl didn't get the memo about what we do on shots two and three. He was holding his phone loosely and after the first shot, well, the phone went flying with our enthusiasm. Here is Carl trying to locate the phone. Phone is fine, just for the record!
Usually we wave at Uncle John when we get to Toomer's Corner. They have a web cam here. Since he was busy we took a picture for him. We all waved as we took the picture, good thing not a lot of folks were around!

A new addition for us
I can't decide if these pictures speak for themselves or not. We are blest to have Jill with us for several months. She fits in well with the Funroes, don't you agree?!?

DEAR Day
I recently had the honor to read to the first and second grade class at the Classical school. Ms Renee asked me to read a few books to her owls to celebrate DEAR Day. Drop Everything And Read Day. What a great day!!!
Before I read, I got to hear the students show their dioramas that they made to show an event that happened in the books that they reported on.
I read Mike Mulligan and His Steamshovel by Virginia Lee Burton, Roll Over by Mordicai Gerstein, Pig Pig Grows Up by David McPhail and What Do You Say, Dear by Sesyle Joslin.
The children were all well behaved and listened. They laughed at all the humor in the books just liked I had hoped they would!
I realized that most of my days are DEAR Days. Do you have DEAR Days?

Blue, yellow, orange, green, red
I needed to clean out one of my two Kitchen Junk drawers recently and this is what I discovered. I am a spatula hoarder. Who knew? Not me. I like the little ones better than the big ones and I will say that I use a lot.
In case you have me on your Christmas list, you can scratch off those spatulas I might have asked for.
I do like how the Rachel Ray spatulas are in AUBURN colors. I had to get those.
I now have a spatula drawer!
Come over and bake with me!

Summer Goals/ bucket list
I have been in the process of making my summer to-do list. I was inspired by Kaitlin, who has already made hers, plus she has a few things she wants me to put on mine!
Today I read this post and got fired up! Incourage blog- summer bucket list
I like bucket list better!

-blog about the books I have been reading, several of you have asked and I am sorry it has taken me so long
-make biscuits three times, I figure that I might mess up the first time, second time will be better and by the third time, I'll have it done so I can repeat it without too much thought, maybe?
-I have 7 friends turning either 50 or 60 this year, I plan to mail or give them a special treat. My goal is to do it this summer, I figure you are 50 or 60 all year why just celebrate the day?!?
-work 8 hours cleaning, throwing away, organizing, getting tired but not giving up in my wreck room
-work 60 hours on scrapbooking, I need to finished Kaitlin's graduation, finish John and Marisa's wedding, catch up with my Project Life for 2012,finish Andrew and Taylor's trip out west, done!!!!
-finish my counted cross-stitch piece
-fast from TV, I want to sit down to watch a show not just mindlessly veg in front of TV, hopefully this will free up the time to clean, scrap and sew
-plus I plan to read, visit with friends, travel abit, and laugh.

Make new friends, but keep the old
We recently had to say goodbye to the latest round of medical students, now doctors, that are now on their way to their residencies. We have been privileged to have them at church worshipping with us for 4 years.
I've been in Table for 4's with all three wives, we've had lunch, celebrated birthdays, Super Bowls and many other times together. I will miss them all terribly.
I told Ashley and Garrett goodbye at a party where I didn't have my camera. I was too sad when I was hugging sweet Ashley goodbye to pull out my phone, so I have no recent picture of us.
Mandy and Stuart and Mandy's family came over for lunch on the Sunday after he was officially a doctor. We ate roast, potatoes, carrots, squash and Sister Schubert's rolls. Then we played telephone/pictionary and laughed and laughed and laughed.
Stuart has family in AR so I have high hopes of seeing them in the future!
Jill and Chris are the last couple. We have the honor of having Jill stay with us this summer as she finishes up some schooling. We have lots of plans for crafting and visiting and even water aerobics this summer. We may even let her do some homework! I am sure you will see lots of pictures of Jill on blog posts detailing our endeavors.
I will really miss these precious friends but I am so thankful for the time I had with them.
