A Day that will live in Infamy

Today is the 67th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Twenty years ago today I read Andrew a book on the attack and it opened up a whole new world to him and the rest of us.

We are watching Tora Tora Tora as I write this post.

I recently learned something that I had either forgotten or never knew. I learned it from a friend of Korean heritage. Japan's imperialism was common in those days. They finally picked on a nation that was willing and capable of fighting back. What this brought me to realize was that America's response was more than just a response to a wrong done to it, it was an act of taking a bully down a notch or two. This friend also related that most in Japan are never taught about Pearl Harbor, so they would not understand you if you started talking about it. It is indeed interesting how our understanding of history influences how we view the world. Thanks for your post.
