I wonder why the builder left me this nice hole in the floor. I am just hoping the nothing from under the house decides to surface to the top and into my bathroom.

eeeeuuuuuwwww!!!! mold and mildew....i feel sure if we gutted our house and looked behind and beneath we'd find the same thing as your pics show....the smell hits me when i walk thru the door, especially if i've been gone on a trip for a few days........glad we don't know about everything that we live with and that it's only revealed to us bit by bit, sorta like the sin in our lives.....
I hope you don't have any rodent intrusions...
